Fitness using technology is the new way to prevent fall
Rapidly growing ageing population is very common phrase of the world especially Singapore. As people age, there are associated problems like osteoporosis and falls incident also increases. That leads to poor population health status, increased health burden and reduced quality of life among seniors living in the community. Falls is an unfortunate event that frightens everybody but falls prevention festival is a fortunate event that helps to create awareness and impart knowledge among seniors, public and healthcare professionals.
”Prevention is better than Cure” is literally applicable for falls prevention efforts and applying strategies will mitigate the risks associated with that. Adopting technology is a smart way to assist in preventing the falls and fear of falling in this modern era. Let’s look at how we can protect ourselves from falls by keeping fit and staying active during our life.

Sutharani Selvam, BPT (Bachelor of Physiotherapy) (India). M.H.S.M (Master of Health Services Management) (Australia). Ms. Sutha has a wider range of experiences working with elderly and seniors in the community sector in Singapore for more than 16 years, helping them to reintegrate into the community upon successful rehabilitation. She has played an instrumental role in many of the organisational initiatives that embarked on acquiring new technology, innovative rehabilitation program that addresses fall prevention and encourages active life style. She also has special interest in technology advancement as well growing elderly population facing challenges to keep fit and improve quality of life.
